Lt Col David F. Tharp, PsyD, M. Div., MASW, MACP, is a Lt Col in the United States Air Force Reserve and served as a NATO Medical Advisor (MEDAD) in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He received the 2012 Air Force Association VA Employee of the Year Award, the 2014 Disabled American Veterans VA National Commanders Award, and the 2014 Texas Congressional District 17 Award. Dr. Tharp previously served as the Program Manager for the third-largest PTSD program in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is the CEO and co-founder of Project Healing Heroes.
Maj Katherine A. Tharp, MD, served as a US Air Force Psychiatrist and Medical Director for mental health while stationed at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. She has received numerous awards throughout her medical education and career, including the Demonstrating Humanism in Medicine and Excellence in Psychiatry. Dr. Tharp was honored by her peers for demonstrating personal strength, determination, and courage in overcoming significant adversity while pursuing her dream of becoing a physican. Throughout residency, she consistently performed in the top 1% of all psychiatry residents nationally on annual in-training exams.
